Cumberland Falls set to play host to photography event

The officials of the Cumberland Falls State Resort Park are poking out nature photography lovers with a weekend of events next month. The Nature Photography Weekend at this Kentucky park will go from 24th to 26th April.

The events would include a twenty-four hour digital contest. The photographers who have all skills and levels could select helpful suggestions from the guest speakers. Also, there will be classes for accomplished and amateur photographers. The changes will be US$ 40 each person.

This year, the speaker will include Daniel Dempster and Kendall Chiles. Kendall is University of Tennessee and the Smoky Mountain Field School’s photography instructor. Daniel has conducted workshops and also guided photography tours all across the country. He is well known for all his photographs of lighthouses and horse races. According to the Park officials, a registration is needed and seat is limited to hundred participants.

Meanwhile, the shortlisted candidates for the 8th Sony World Photography Awards were declared previous month, exhibiting the best in World photography by pros as well as youths and everyone.

World Photographic Academy judges will now shortlist the remaining entries. And the winners will be declared on 31st March for the Open and Youth categories, and 23rd April for the remainder. It is said that the contest has got the highest submissions this year – it stands at more than 173000. The winners of the pro categories would then battle for a US$ 25000 prize.
